Buy The Undercut: Racing Manager

Thank you

The first week has been intense. The Discord community has quadrupled in less than a week. Hundreds of bug reports, save files, balance suggestions and feature requests came in — and four hotfixes shipped in seven days, all built from what you sent.

The game is better today than it was on September 3, and none of that is my doing alone.

To the alpha testers, the demo players and the new players who shaped this game from devlog to launch: thank you.

🔧 0.5.4 — still being patched

Hotfixes for the current build continue. If you hit a bug, the in-game report tool or the Discord are the fastest ways to get it fixed.

A save file is worth ten descriptions.

🏗️ 0.5.5 — the next big update

0.5.5 is built directly from your feedback. It is about making the game yours.

Custom career

A new career creation screen where you set the rules before you start:

  • Number of teams on the grid
  • Number of GPs per season
  • Weekend format
  • Difficulty settings
  • And more — the career adapts to what you want to play

Department automation

Every department can be set to one of three modes:

  • Manual — you make every decision, like today.
  • Assisted — the AI handles the department and emails you what it did. You take the decisions through the emails.
  • Auto — the AI runs it and keeps you informed by email. You focus on what matters to you.

Each department is set independently. Run sponsors on auto, R&D on manual, scouting on assisted — whatever fits your style. New players can automate everything and get to racing faster; veterans keep full control.

Nothing is locked in. Every mode can be changed at any point in the career — switch a department to auto for a busy season, take it back to manual the moment you want the wheel again.

Spectator mode

Watch a race without managing it. Pick any team, sit back, and let the AI race the full weekend — practice, qualifying, race.

Like automation, it is a switch: turn it on and off whenever you want, weekend by weekend.

AI rebalance

Race strategy and career decisions for AI teams are being reworked. Tyre choices, pit timing, development priorities and financial management all get a pass, so the grid feels more competitive and more believable across multiple seasons.

UI pass

Continued polish on layout, readability and responsiveness across every screen. The auto-fit system from 0.5.4-3 was a first step — 0.5.5 continues the work.

And a few surprises

That is not the whole list. 0.5.5 has more in it than what is written above — a few things I would rather you discover in the patch notes on the day.

🗺️ The road after 0.5.5

After 0.5.5, development shifts to 0.6.0 — Weather & Car Setup: dynamic weather, rain, drying lines, and a full rework of the car setup system. That is the first of the five headline updates promised in the roadmap.

Lights out

The launch discount ends tomorrow. Every update after it — 0.5.5, 0.6.0 and everything through to 1.0 — is included in your purchase.
